These 5 Issues Mean You Need an AC Repair

As things start to warm up around here, it means that having a properly working air conditioner in your home is highly important. You don’t want your AC system running up your energy bills or working poorly on the hottest day of the year.

If you’ve run your air conditioner a few times already but started to notice that the system isn’t operating quite right, it is important to have it checked out. A need for air conditioner repair in Dublin that is already present will only get worse as the season progresses.

Reach out to us for repairs today if you notice any of the following indicators of trouble:

1. The system is making concerning sounds

Your air conditioner isn’t meant to make a lot of noise. The most that you might usually hear is the whoosh of air flowing through the ducts. Aside from this, if you are hearing sounds such as screeching, hissing, rattling, or bubbling, these can be indicators of trouble.

2. Your AC is producing weak airflow

When you run your air conditioner, it should create a strong flow of air throughout the house to cool things off. The problem arises when the airflow from the system is far weaker in one room or throughout the entire home. This can indicate trouble that ranges from a dirty air filter to leaking ductwork.

3. Your system isn’t producing any cool air

Is your air conditioner cooling your home? If you notice that your AC is unable to properly cool your home, or is unable to produce cool air at all, then you need a professional to check things out. Your air conditioner will need repairs at the least but may even need to be replaced.

4. You have started to notice the AC is short cycling

Have you heard about short cycling before?

Short cycling refers to when your air conditioner’s cooling cycle is interrupted or shortened. This isn’t good; your AC isn’t just cooling things faster than before. The reality is that your AC is dealing with a problem that is causing it to shut off early. This may be due to a refrigerant leak, airflow troubles, or even electrical issues.

Make sure to get an expert to check your system ASAP if it starts to short cycle as this can put it on the fast track to a breakdown.

5. There are signs of a leak

Your AC isn’t supposed to leak fluid.

If your AC has a refrigerant leak, you may notice water marks under the air handler or water leaking from the condenser. The system’s refrigerant runs in a closed-loop system, so a leak is a big problem.

Another potential cause of a leak is a clogged condensate drain. If the collected condensation can’t drain out of the pan, it may overflow into your home.

If any of the above warning signs sound familiar, it may be a good idea to talk to an expert for repairs.
